Whose personal data does Van Hulzen process?

Who is responsible for the processing of your personal data?
When Van Hulzen determines which of your personal data is processed, for what purpose, and in what manner, Van Hulzen acts as the data controller. If Van Hulzen processes your personal data on behalf of a client, the client is the data controller and Van Hulzen acts solely as the data processor.
What does Van Hulzen use your personal data for?
Van Hulzen may only process your personal data if we have a legal basis for doing so. The legal bases for processing your personal data are:

To be able to establish a relationship with you
If you are our customer, we want to serve you properly. In order to do do so, we process your personal data. For example, we use your name and address details to maintain contact. We also need your name to process payments. Additionally, we may share your name with third parties, such as payment service providers, to facilitate these transactions.
For the development and improvement of services
In order to continue to provide you with the best possible service, we are constantly working on the development and improvement of our services. In some cases, we process personal data for this purpose. For example, if you ask a question about our services.
For promotional and marketing purposes
We may process your personal data (whether on our own behalf or on behalf of a client) for promotional or marketing purposes when you have given your consent, when it is related to an existing agreement, or when we have a legitimate interest. For our business operations
We think it is important and necessary to maintain a good overview of our customer relationships. In order to obtain this overview, we process personal data.
For archive purposes
We only collect personal data that is necessary for the purposes mentioned above. If we no longer need the data for those purposes, we may still retain it for archiving. In that case, the data will only be used for legal proceedings or for historical, statistical, or scientific research.

Supervision of the processing of personal data
The rules for protecting your personal data have been established by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) since May 25th, 2018. The Dutch Data Protection Authority (DPA) oversees compliance with this law.

Safety
To protect your privacy and ensure the confidentiality of your data, Van Hulzen implements appropriate technical and organizational measures. We take security precautions to prevent misuse and unauthorized access to personal data.
Besides securing our systems, we also ensure that not everyone at Van Hulzen has access to your data. Systems containing customer data are accessible only to employees who need this access to perform their work.
Reporting incidents
If it unexpectedly occurs that there has been a breach in the protection of your personal data, or if we suspect such a breach, we will report it to the AP. If this breach is likely to have negative consequences for you, we will inform you as soon as possible.
Confidential
We assume that your data is always confidential in nature. Therefore, every employee of Van Hulzen is obligated to maintain confidentiality. This obligation also applies to third parties hired or otherwise engaged by Van Hulzen to perform work. Individuals responsible for technical work on our systems are likewise bound by confidentiality. In short, anyone who has access to your data is bound by a duty of confidentiality.
How long do we keep your data?
Van Hulzen does not store your data longer than necessary for the purposes for which it is processed, nor longer than legally permitted. The retention period varies depending on the nature of the data and the purpose of processing. Therefore, different data may be stored for different lengths of time.
Providing to third parties
We explicitly do not share your personal data with third parties, unless it is necessary for the execution of an agreement, required by law, or you have given us your consent to do so.

Access to your data
Are you a contact of Van Hulzen and would you like to know which personal data we’ve processed about you? You can exercise your ‘Right of Access.’ Please specify which personal data you would like to receive.
Right to rectification
You have the right to have your data corrected if it is inaccurate or incomplete. You also have the right to request correction if the data is not relevant to the purpose for which we process it, or if your data has been processed in violation of legal regulations.

We kindly ask you to identify yourself by providing a valid proof of identity. This enables us to verify that we are sharing your personal data with the correct person.
Excessive requests regarding the provision of information may be rejected by us. Excessive requests occur when, for example, you approach us with requests for information more than average and necessary.
